No nuclear waste on California's beaches

For decades, federal regulators have failed to find a permanent site to store the highly radioactive used fuel from nuclear plants across the country. This means that millions of pounds of nuclear waste can sit in shuttered facilities for years.

The San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) was shut down nearly six years ago, yet more than 3 million pounds of spent fuel and other waste are still onsite.

SONGS sits in an area with significant seismic activity, only 100 feet from the Pacific Ocean, and with more than 8 million people living within 50 miles.

It’s a setup for catastrophe. The government cannot delay any longer.

Tell the Department of Energy: "No more waiting! Move the nuclear waste from San Onofre before it’s too late!"
